Arch windows can be frustrating when trying to decide on how to cover them. The type of treatment depends on what type of arch's or specialty shade it is.
I am going to show you what I did with a front of a house that has 3 arch top windows. We used a what's called an arch panel shutter to cover it. These are painted wood shutters with an "Z" Frame. The wall was dry wall, so the Z Frame give it a nice molding around it. The louver's run all the way from the bottom to the top of each panel. We put a divider bar in the shutter so the bottom shutters can tilt independently from the top shutters. The divider bar also hides the lock mechanisms on the window. The louvers are 3 1/2".
This is the Before picture with Curtains on the wall.
And now the finish look with the Shutters!
The shutters gave the room a much nicer, cleaner, fresher look. Now the home owner can tilt the louvers to look outside and still have privacy.
